Seth Robertson, PhD, P.E.
Project Engineer

GRL-MA@grlengineers.com
Seth has significant experience in consulting and innovative research projects in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. Seth has worked primarily in deep foundation design and conducted technical analyses focused on the area of pile dynamics.

Seth’s experience has included the design and implementation of drop weight dynamic load tests on drilled deep foundations, involving the structural analyses related to the testing device design, and pre-testing simulations and post-test interpretation of the dynamic measurements. He has evaluated subsurface engineering design parameters and designed shallow and deep foundations for large viaducts/bridges, off-shore piers, and high-rise structures globally. Seth has also worked on the calibration and application of Reliability Based Design procedures in the Load and Resistance Factor Design format for establishing the nominal resistance of deep driven foundations.

Seth holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He is a licensed professional engineer in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
